Inexpensively Progress & Goals: Yakezie Challenge

April 10, 2010 at 11:28 pm 6 Comments

We’ve come a long way from the tiny, Indy-local site I started 6 years ago. At the time, I just wanted a place to share the grocery deals I was finding with friends who couldn’t believe the savings! Over the years, it grew and a blog was formed to share money saving tips & other hot deals I found along the way. Today, we have more than 10 network partners, covering deals in 6 other states.

I’m so excited with how far we’ve come in our first year—with the 1st anniversary still months away! Thank you for stopping me at the store to let me know how much you’re saving with our lists! Thank you for telling your friends about us. Thank you for sharing our links in your favorite forums. It’s inspiring to know we’re making a difference in your lives! However, the drive to help even more people lower their budget just keeps growing.

That’s why I’m joining forces with an awesome group of personal finance bloggers for the Yakezie Alexa Ranking Challenge. The idea is to encourage fellow personal finance bloggers to raise their Alexa ranking to either 200,000 or 100,000 (depending on where you’re starting) by this summer. Today, our ranking sits at 159,413 so we’re shooting to rank in the top 100,000 by July.

It may be a lofty goal, since I’m a bit late to the game but I already have the support of the group behind me. I’m so glad to have “met” Nicole from Rainy Day Saver through this program. She has already been encouraging & promoting our articles. I’m excited to jump in and start returning the favor (and paying it forward to other members of the group)! It’s an entirely new world of personal finance bloggers, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to enter it.

Hi Heather, welcome to the Yakezie challenge. I’m looking forward to reading your articles.

P.S. I’m going to Blogher in August as well. It’ll be great to have a mini-Yakezie meeup.
