Monday Mashup: Seasonal Stockpile Coupons

November 9, 2009 at 7:40 am 1 Comment

thumb-monday-mashupOne of the keys to saving money is stockpiling and buying items at a rock bottom price. Some items are only available at a rock bottom price during certain seasons. Currently, it is time to stock-up on canned soups and broth, cranberry sauce, canned pumpkin and baking supplies.

In the last few weeks, I have bought enough soup and broth to last at least the next three months. Why? Well, the coupons were readily available and the stores had great sales to make these items free to .90¢ each. I have also started buying baking supplies, a 5lb bag of sugar for .99¢, several cans of evaporated milk for free and Nestle Toll House Morsels for $1.00.

Over the next couple of weeks I will continue to add to my baking supplies stockpile. I tend to do a lot of baking at Christmas. As the weeks go by, the stores will run promotions on these items and I will buy products for baking at Christmas and items to add to my stockpile.
