Excitement is in the air down in Port Jefferson! It’s that time of year again—the Charles Dickens Festival is now in it’s 15th year! I remember going to the 1st one they ever had all those years ago). This year, head down to this free event Friday, December 3rd through Sunday, December 5th!
The weekend is jam packed with fun, starting at noon on Friday, December 3, 2010. It’s the Toys for Tots Model Railroad Exhibit at Belle Terre Community Center at 55 Cliff Road, Belle Terre. And the festivities go all weekend long. You definitely want to get down there by 4:30pm for the Victorian Lantern Dedication on East Main Street and stick around for the Opening Ceremony at 5:30pm at 1st Presbyterian Church.

Parking is rough down there during the event, think summertime but 100 times worse! However, it’s a great event with so much to see and do, sometimes it’s worth it to have to walk a little bit to get down into the village. You’ll have a great time with family and friends!
Enjoy yourselves this weekend.
If you can’t make this event, you may be interested in a smaller one in Ronkonkoma at Raynor Back Park on Ronkonkoma Avenue— read about the “Christmas Celebration” here –> Free Christmas Event
