Helping End The Cycle Of Child Abuse

February 17, 2011 at 8:45 am Leave a Comment

A report of child abuse is made every ten seconds. Childhelp is a non-profit organization whose mission is to meet the physical, emotional, educational and spiritual needs of those abused, neglected and at-risk children. They run a number of programs including community centers, foster care, group homes, and advocacy centers. They also have a program that brings prevention education to both children and adults and they run a 24-hour nationwide child abuse hotline for those that are being abused or know somebody being abused.

There are a few ways to support Childhelp and the work that they do.

1) Donate money online or by sending a check in the mail.

2) Spread the word about Childhelp online through Facebook or Twitter. You can also easily share through email using Childhelp’s online email form.

3) Volunteer with Childhelp if you live in Arizona, California, Colorado, Michigan, Tennessee, or Virginia.

4) Purchase a gift from their gift catalog. Buy a complete set of bedding for a child living at a Childhelp Village, a backpack full of supplies, or purchase toys for the advocacy center.

Even a small donation can make a big difference. $25 covers five hotline calls for assistance to five people who need help in stopping the cycle of abuse. Your donation could ensure that there are people to answer those calls.
