Donating To Goodwill

June 10, 2010 at 7:48 am Leave a Comment

Have a closet like this? Or maybe a room? Maybe even a whole house?

When I get overwhelmed by “stuff” I find it’s best to go through everything and de-clutter. I always create 3 piles: one is items to keep, one is items to throw away, and the last one is items to donate. There are many places to donate your unwanted items, but I donate mine to our local Goodwill.

According to their website, “the sales of your donations help fund job training programs, employment placement services and other community-based programs for people who have disabilities, lack education or job experience, or face employment challenges.” Goodwill received donations from more than 66 million people last year and sold the items in over 2,400 locations.

To find out more information about Goodwill you can visit their website or to find a nearby donation center you can use their store locator.
