Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center Fall Plant Sale October 9-10

October 6, 2010 at 3:31 pm Leave a Comment

Downtown Austin will be taken over by the Austin City Limits Music Festival this weekend, so why not head a little bit south for some weekend fun in this gorgeous fall weather?

(Seriously, 75 and sunny all weekend. This is why we moved to Texas.)

Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is hosting it’s annual fall plant sale this Saturday and Sunday, October 9-10, with a members only sneak peak on Friday, October 8.

There will be hundreds of native plants available for purchase, as well as book signings, activities for the kids, and a chance to take in the beautiful fall foliage at the wildflower center. Not only will you have the opportunity to speak to expert horticulturists about your fall planting, I’ve found that buying from local plant sales is much cheaper and better quality than garden centers and big box stores.

Tickets are $8 for adults, $7 for seniors and students, $3 for children 5 -12, members and children under 5 free. If you’re taking the kids, the family membership is $65/annually, so it may be smart buy with lots of perks!

Make sure to follow @WildflowerCRT on Twitter for information about happenings at the center and all around Austin.
