12 Free Days of Indy Christmas

December 13, 2010 at 9:03 am 1 Comment

In the 12 days leading up to Christmas, more than a dozen attractions and businesses in Indy offer free admission. This is an annual event in the Indianapolis area, and kicks off today! Some of my favorites are included, again this season. It looks like our first week of winter break is planned out for us!

  • Monday, December 13: Music & Lights in Indy (Circle of Lights & free downtown concerts) and Eiteljorg Museum (I am hearing amazing things about the new train exhibit!)

  • Tuesday, December 14: James Whitcomb Riley Museum Home, Mistletoe Music Festival at the Indianapolis Artsgarden, Meredith Nicholson House

  • Wednesday, December 15: Indy Wine Trail (free wine tastings)

  • Thursday, December 16: Indianapolis Museum of Art (which is cheating because it is always free but they’re including the J.K. Lilly, Jr. House and Winter Solstice event!)

  • Friday, December 17: Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site, Morris-Butler House, Skating at the Indiana State Fairgrounds (skate rental $3)

  • Saturday, December 18: Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum, Indiana Medical History Museum, Celebrities and Santa at the Indianapolis International Airport

  • Sunday, December 19: NCAA Hall of Champions, Scottish Rite Cathedral
  • Monday, December 20: Indiana State Museum/Celebration Crossing (I bought a family membership through Groupon recently—we’ll have to use it for the holiday exhibit for sure.)

  • Tuesday, December 21: Conner Prairie Interactive History Park (I love, love, love the gingerbread house exhibit every year!)

  • Wednesday, December 22: Rhythm! Discovery Center

  • Thusday, December 23: Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center

  • Friday, December 24: Indianapolis Children’s Museum (I always think this one is cheating too, since it’s free every Christmas Eve, but Jolly Days is still a great event!)

Our friends at Visit Indy have all the details. Check it out, and have a great holiday season!
