Unique and Practical Holiday Gift

November 23, 2009 at 12:33 pm 1 Comment

I have been a AAA cardholder for years. I have taken advantage of the services many times and even used it one day when a friend came over and her daughter locked the car with it running. With a quick call to the 800 number provided, AAA sent a locksmith right out to my house and there was no charge to me to have my friends car unlocked.

When my daughter turned 16, she got her first card. I feel more at peace knowing she can call AAA if she cannot get in touch with me or her father. The card is even more important now that she is away at college. You can bet my brother will be getting one this holiday season. He travels all the time and constantly has car problems. This past week while I was home visiting, I had to charge his battery twice with my car. My mind was made up right then that was what he was getting for Christmas. He really could have used it a few weeks ago when he locked his keys in his car. The amount he had to pay the locksmith would have paid the AAA fee for the entire year.

If you have a teen or even a family member that travels a good bit, the AAA card would make a great gift. Beside the car service perks, there are so many more services offered such as discounts at over 160,000 locations, discount on attractions, on-line retailers, travel assistance, and more. I always show my AAA card at hotels to receive a discount off of my bill. The card has more than paid for itself.

This is a very practical gift and today, more than ever, we need to be thinking practical!

Seems like a good gift. I’m interested in getting one for myself if I ever save up the money.
