How can new parents save a bit of money when it comes to baby items? Well, what I am going to share with you is the ugly truth that no one will tell new moms….the deep, dark secret we all figure out AFTER we have bought and washed all our new baby clothing and cannot return them! What is this dirty little secret? Baby socks are biggest WASTE of your money! That’s right. Cute as they are, so tiny and in all those little colors, with the baby themed designs…….DON’T GET SUCKED IN NEW MOMMIES. Just say no!
Here’s why: They will never stay on your child’s feet and before you even put them on your new baby’s feet, you have to wash them. What does this mean? The loss of at least one to two socks. Not pairs of socks, just one sock from two separate pairs. And of course, the socks you are left with are totally different and can’t be matched with each other. Hear the money being flushed down the toilet? I know, I understand.
Now, you finally get them on your child’s feet and the constant picking them up off the floor begins. Pick them up, put them back on your baby’s feet and you go to pick your little bundle up and the socks fall off again. So, you put the baby down, get the socks, put them back on your baby’s feet, pick up your child and look at that, the socks are not on the floor, but in your dog’s mouth……and the chase is on to get them back. And it just goes on like this. It is a vicious cycle, always reminding you of the money wasted.
Tell your family and friends not to buy these for you, instead, register/buy lots of outfits that have feet attached and pants that have feet attached. If you do get a pair of these silly socks, return them to the store and put that money toward items you will need. Pop the phrase “baby pants with feet” into Biz Rate‘s website and you will find a plethora of outfits that have pants with feet, or just pants sold separately that have feet. Places like Sears, Babies R Us and Amazon all have these amazing little pairs of pants with feet. Register for these types of items and stay away from the baby socks!
If you want to purchase the items from any of these stores, don’t forget to shop online through sites like Mr. Rebates, Ebates, ShopatHome and Big Crumbs.
