Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

If you are planning an October trip to Walt Disney World, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party is (I hear) not to be missed! As you are probably aware, admission tickets to Walt Disney World do not include the special events like the Halloween or Christmas parties. This means if you want to go to the amusement park for the day and attend the evening’s festivities, you would need to purchase both admission tickets AND party tickets. Pretty expensive, though I have heard it is worth it. Today, I’m sharing way for the party to actually save you money on your Fall vacation.

While the park tickets do not include the party, your party tickets do include park admission—but only during party hours! This is where a little planning can work to your advantage. If you purchase party tickets for a day when you would not otherwise be able to spend the full day at the park, you get to experience a half day at the park for only the price of your Halloween party ticket. On your first day, after traveling to Orlando, it wouldn’t be worth a full day ticket to go the park for just an evening. This is a great way to be sure your travel day isn’t a waste of vacation.

2004-04-152 Another option would be to spend the day at Downtown Disney (free!), hitting up the Magic Kingdom in time for your Halloween tickets to gain you entrance to the park. Better yet, spend the afternoon at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Downtown Disney to add the finishing touches to your child’s costume. The boutique is definitely not inexpensive, but can be an amazing experience for your little princess. There is plenty to do in Downtown Disney that is completely free. My girls could hang out at the Lego store for hours and never get bored!

After you’ve checked into your hotel or spent an afternoon at Downtown Disney, you’ll be able to have an enjoyable evening Trick or Treating at Walt Disney World, without paying for both sets of tickets. Of course, I’d never leave you without a deal! Don’t forget to check Undercover Tourist or DW Tickets for discounts to Walt Disney World and other area attractions. Disney also has several special offers of their own for free tickets. You can get free admission on your birthday all this year. Starting next year, you can receive a free day at Disney when you register and complete a day of volunteer service. They are attempting to inspire a million people to get involved in their communities through the new Give a Day, Get a Day promotion.

Because the visiting the Happiest Place on Earth shouldn’t leave you the poorest person your block!
