Giveaway: Smart Mama’s Green Guide

August 1, 2009 at 8:30 am

Smart Mamas Green GuideWhen this book was released last month, we were excited to introduce it to our community. It provides simple solutions for reducing toxic chemical exposure in your children’s lives, no matter what your budget may be. Heather provided a review of Smart Mama’s Green Guide on her blog:

Jennifer Taggart understands that it is difficult for most people to eliminate all sources of toxic chemicals in their homes. It is often too expensive or time consuming to control everything, but she provides several simple, practical ideas to get you started. She breaks down each hazard, giving detailed explanations on how and why each poses a threat. For those of us who can’t quite grasp the acronyms or decipher the various chemicals, she gives real world examples. However, for those of you who thrive on the details that I can’t quite comprehend, she includes those as well.

The publisher, Hachette Book Group, is now providing additional books for our launch party. To be entered into the giveaway, leave a comment here and share simple ways you choose a greener life. You can also earn additional entries by blogging or tweeting about this giveaway (be sure to leave a separate comment with the link to each additional entry).

The contest runs August 1st until 11:59pm edt. One winner will be notified by email on August 2nd (as selected by Random.org) and must reply with their mailing address within 48 hours or a new winner will be chosen. Open only to residents of the U.S. & Canada and cannot be shipped to PO boxes.

Don’t forget to check out the rest of our giveaways to enter—updated daily!

I am learning to live greener by staying away from plastics, recycling and composting.

Sounds like an interesting book. We’re trying to go green by recycling everything we can, using reusable bags and refilling water bottles instead of buying disposable. Thanks!

I used to use3 plastic bags to clean up my cat’s litter. Now, I have a small trashcan next to the litter box. I dump it into the regular trash saving money and the environment.

Not good at being green yet, but I do really like the reusable bags for shopping! Even started carrying one with me for non-grocery shopping. Baby steps and I will get there.
