Give Clean Water (Blogivation)

August 26, 2010 at 9:18 am Leave a Comment

P&G is providing a day of clean drinking water (2L) to a person in a developing country for every vote cast during the Clean Water Blogivation. As of this Wednesday, August 25th there were 8,584 days of clean water being provided. This campaign ends tomorrow so you have two days to vote. It’s easy to do! Just visit this link and look on the right for the leader scoreboard. Make sure to click on the arrows at the top to look at the other pages. Read the posts by clicking on the titles in the box. When you find one you like enter your email address in the voting widget and viola! you have just provided a day’s worth of clean water.

“CSDW is a not-for-profit program founded by P&G as part of our global cause efforts. I’m proud to say that since the launch of the program in 2004, P&G and our safe drinking water partners have distributed 200 million packets of PUR Purifier of Water in 57 countries to provide two billion liters of clean water.

The focus of CSDW is providing clean drinking water through a low cost household water treatment product called PUR Purifier of Water. The PUR packets contain a water-purifying technology developed by P&G and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to help reduce sickness and death resulting from drinking contaminated water. One small PUR packet quickly turns 10 liters of dirty, potentially deadly water into clean, drinkable water.”

-Dr. Greg Allgood, Director of the Children’s Safe Drinking Water (CSDW) Program at Procter & Gamble
