Slow cookers aren’t just for winter anymore!

You can do so much more than soups and stews in your slow cooker. Now is the time to enjoy your favorite comfort foods without heating up the kitchen. You can also cook some of your favorite summery foods, while you’re away at the pool all day.

So, as we approach a busy summer—not to mention a super hot week—here are 30 slow cooker recipes to keep your kitchen cool:

If you’re looking for a new slow cooker, I’ve been pleased with mine so far. I have the Hamilton Beach Set ‘n Forget Slow Cooker. I like it because the lid latches on, making it perfect for transporting to potlucks without making a mess in your car!

How To Grill a Pizza

One of our girls’ favorite grilled treats is pizza. Partly, because we don’t get to eat a lot of pizza. I usually have to make our gluten free crust from scratch. Plus, it’s so much fun to eat pizza with grill marks on the crust, and I’m always up for an excuse to cook outside [...]

Beat The Heat with Cobb Sandwiches

The Cobb Salad is a splendor to behold, so you can’t go wrong with a Cobb Sandwich! The recipe calls for bacon. Lots of it. To beat the heat, you can use leftover bacon, cook up a batch on the grill, or take advantage of the microwave variety (which I think is quite tasty). Also, [...]

California Ham Sandwiches

Grinder, sub, hoagie, hero, torpedo, panini – whatever you call it, the sandwich is an under-appreciated menu items that fits perfectly in our Beat the Heat Summer Cooking Series! This week I’m going to be sharing three sandwiches that can be served either hot or cold. If serving hot you can still beat the heat [...]
