Where are my grocery lists?

Money Saving Monday: Thanksgiving

money-saving-mondayToday is my youngest daughter’s 4th birthday so plans are in full swing for her party this weekend. However, I’m already planning ahead for Thanksgiving! A few years ago, we decided to eliminate our Thanksgiving weekend travel in favor of hosting our own dinner since we visit so much family in December. (Besides, I like to have home field advantage for Black Friday!) As a result of our food allergies, I prepare the full feast myself. I have lots of ideas for keeping it simple and inexpensive, plus I’m counting on all of you to add your own tips!

As with any meal, one of the easiest ways to save is to pick up items you need as they are on sale. Plan your menu, check your pantry and create a grocery list to carry with you throughout the month. There are a lot of great coupons out already that will help with your Thanksgiving feast. Nestle put out several coupons in yesterday’s coupon inserts as well as printable coupons on their site. Coupons for Rhodes dinner rolls or Argo baking powder or corn starch could also be useful. You’ll definitely want to check outthese printable coupons to stock up on things like McCormick’s spices, Pillsbury pie crust and more. Be sure to search our coupon database for additional matches on the ingredients you’ll need.

Now, we want to hear your own ideas! The rules are simple: write about saving money on the given topic, mention MSM and link back to Inexpensively in your post, then come back here to add your permalink in the Mr. Linky. Be sure to grab the banner to let everyone know you’re participating! If you do not have a blog of your own, you are welcome to share your tips in the comments. Then, check out the great tips from our contributors and readers. Don’t forget to come back next week to share frugal tips on Charitable Giving—as long as we’re talking about Thanksgiving, we should discuss being thankful and sharing our blessings.
