FREE Tax Advice Tomorrow 3/25 (Plus an H&R Block Giveaway!)

March 24, 2010 at 3:55 pm

Taxes are a necessary evil but can be incredibly complicated and confusing to many people. Yes, there are online programs and home tax software programs designed to walk you through your forms. Yet, I’m often left with questions—is this deductible somewhere? What am I missing?

That’s why I’m excited to tell you about H&R Block’s Free Tax Advice Day. For 24 hours, their 50 tax professionals will be taking calls & answering emails with your personalized tax questions. It’s like having an accountant on call all day long! Through April 15, Taxpayers can call 1-866-HRBLOCK or e-mail taxtalk@hrblock.com for free advice. You can also submit your questions online at the Get It Right community or via iPhone with the H&R Block Tax Answers application.

Even better—H&R Bock has partnered with TaxMama, Eva Rosenberg, to host 2 online radio shows on Thursday, March 25th. For both shows, everyone can visit http://www.blogtalkradio.com/hrblock to listen in. If you have specific tax questions, be sure to submit them in advance! The radio shows include:

Must-Know Tax Advice for Taxpayers,
10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. ET

Key topics for taxpayers include:

  • the top five tax law changes for this year
  • tips for job seekers and those who were unemployed in 2009
  • top tips for last minute filers
Must-Know Tax Advice for Bloggers and Freelance Writers, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. ET

Key topics include:

  • tips for how to report income or gifts
  • how to account for advertising revenue
  • how to determine your home office expenses

I’ll be tuning in tomorrow while I work on my grocery deal lists—I hope you’ll join me. H&R Block is also extending FREE tax help to one of our readers! For a chance to win H&R Block at Home Premium software ($49.95 value), simply leave a comment here and let me know how you’ll spend your refund, if you’re getting one. You can earn additional entries by:

  • Subscribing to our site by email or RSS
  • Following H&R Bolck and Inexpensively on Twitter
  • Writing about this giveaway (blog, forum, public Facebook note)
  • Tweeting about this giveaway: Win @HRBlock tax software from @Inexpensively! {link}

For your extra entries to be counted, be sure to leave an additional comment directing us to your entry. Only one additional entry per method (i.e. While multiple tweets are appreciated it, only one will count as a drawing entry.) The contest runs until March 29th at 11:59pm est. One winner will be notified by email on March 30th with instructions on how claim their prize. Winner will have 48 hours to complete the claim form or a new winner will be chosen.

That was so helpful!!! Thanks for posting the link. While the online radio shows have ended they said they will be posting them on Taxmama so that you can still have a chance to listen to them.

I would like to win the software. If we are getting a refund, we will use it to repair our car, dryer, or purchase a mattress.
