FREE Admission to Austin Museums

February 16, 2011 at 8:40 am Leave a Comment

I love the abundance of museums and cultural centers in Austin and the weekends are a great time to take advantage of free admission for the whole family. Here’s two to take advantage of this weekend:

FREE admission to the Mexic-Arte Museum every Sunday from 12-5 pm. Mexic-Arte is the official Mexican and Mexican American fine art museum of Texas, and they bring a plethora of entertaining and educational events to Austin (including the upcoming Tequila Tasting). Follow @Mexic_Arte on Twitter for news on their latest exhibits and family events.

Also enjoy FREE admission to the Austin Children’s Museum every Sunday from 4-5 pm. It’s a great way to take in an exhibit or two and let the kids blow off some steam in the museums interactive gallery and program space. And you know I love when the Austinites are on Twitter, so follow @ACMkids on Twitter.

If you’re looking for something to do on Saturday, don’t forget about the free kite making workshops happening this month!
