Crayola Lights, Camera, Color! Access Code & Giveaway

November 10, 2009 at 7:35 am

Telescoping Crayon Tower - 150ct.
When my girls heard that My Blog Spark was sending us a Crayola gift pack, they checked the mail every day for a package! However, when the package arrived and I saw how beautiful and perfect the crayons were, I couldn’t bring myself to turn them over to my destructive children. The crayons come neatly organized in a round tote, perfect for sharing (if only I would!). The “telescoping” part means when you pull up on the center, you’ll have 3 rows of gorgeous colors to choose from.

It includes a built-in crayon sharpener, which I distinctly remember being the coolest part of buying the 64-count box. Clearly, I am old school because we have 150 crayons now! 150 crayons? Seriously?! If you thought Crayola would run out of colors, you obviously didn’t factor in glitter. Yes—that’s right—glitter. In. My. Crayons. They are almost too pretty to use. Almost. But, wait—there’s more!

Specially marked packages of 48, 64, 96, 120-ct. as well as the 150-ct. Crayon Tower now include a code for free online access to Crayola Lights, Camera, Color. Here your kids can design and print their own coloring pages. It includes cool effects, fun backgrounds and other creative fun. The best part, though, is uploading your own photos to create coloring pages. My youngest has had a blast coloring pictures of her and our family. She has already asked if I would print a coloring page from this weekend’s birthday party. (Hey, that would be an awesome thank-you note!)

coloring pageThis is our favorite creation so far—we sucked all the color out of the picture of my daughter with 2 of my 2nd cousins at last month’s family reunion. She loves feeling connected to her “new friends” by coloring their pictures. I’m planning to send a copy to my cousins as well. I think they’ll get a kick of out getting mail and having the chance to color a picture of themselves. The only thing I don’t like, really, is that the site doesn’t remember my login from visit to visit. I’m sure that’s some sort of security feature, but I hate typing my information in nonstop (because that’s how often she wants to play).

Now, it’s your turn to play! The website is completely free, but if you want to print anything you’ll need an access code. Of course, I have one for you to try it out! Use coupon code PRT77F3S for a 1-day pass. I’d love if you would share some of your creations on our fan page or on the Crayola fan page! You can also win a Crayola Telescoping Tower and 6-month access code right now—simply leave a comment telling us about your favorite photo! You can earn additional entries by:

  • Subscribing to our site by email or RSS
  • Following Crayola and Inexpensively on Twitter
  • Blogging about this giveaway
  • Tweeting about this giveaway: Win a free Lights, Camera, Color gift pack from @Crayola and @Inexpensively! http://bit.ly/wc8E3`

For your extra entries to be counted, be sure to leave an additional comment directing us to your entry. Only one additional entry per method (i.e. While multiple tweets are appreciated it, only one will count as a drawing entry.) The contest runs until November 15th at 11:59pm edt. One winner will be notified by email on November 16th (as selected by Random.org).

Congratulations to Elizabeth and PunkinMama—winners of our Kids Eat For iPhone application giveaway!

thumb-tried-it-tuesday
There are numerous products and tools designed to help you live your life. Some will work, while others won’t. Each Tuesday, we’ll share something we’ve tried so you won’t have to spend money until you know it’s worth it! Our selections usually include items that will also save your family money while others will save you time or just make your inexpensive life easier to manage. I received a 150-count telescoping tower of crayons plus a coupon code to try this service for our readers, in addition to the gift package for our giveaway, but the opinion is 100% real.

My favorite is one from last Christmas with the kids by the tree. The only problem is that my 3rd child was born a month later, so he’s not in the picture!

I have way too many photos. But, there is one of my daughter where she is on her bike for the first time without training wheels and she looks back to see if I’m watching.

[…] Crayons are a very inexpensive item, but always a huge hit with younger children. Consider ways to piece together a memorable coloring gift set for the little ones in your life. My mom is giving each of our girls a craft case filled with paper & crayons. It is one of the least expensive gifts she purchased this year, but will probably be one of their favorites. You could even make your own coloring book. Make it even more personal by printing coloring pages made from your own photos! […]
