The countdown is officially on, and I couldn’t be more excited! For weeks, we’ve been planning our Countdown to Christmas—sharing festive, frugal tips every day until the big day. With 25 days until Christmas, we want to kick off our holiday series by hearing about all the fun ways you countdown at home. Do you make paper chains, craft your own countdown or have a favorite advent calendar
?
My mom bought the girls their chocolate advent calendar while she was in town this weekend. They have already done the math to see how many pieces of candy they will each get as we countdown to Christmas. This is not my idea, but at least I have finally talked her out of getting a calendar for each of them! We also use a wrapped book countdown. Later this week, the hubby and I will dig out all the girls’ Christmas books and wrap them in leftover paper. The girls will get to take turns counting the books to see how many days until Christmas, then unwrapping the gift to read a holiday story before bedtime. It allows us to display gifts under the tree, count the days until Christmas and have a specific time set aside each night to read their favorite holiday books, ending on Christmas Eve with ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.
Don’t forget to check back daily as we Countdown to Christmas—think of it as your frugal advent calendar! We also hope you’ll join us next week for Money Saving Monday to share tips on holiday decorations—how do you decorate on a dime?
