Couponing for Community

May 3, 2010 at 10:19 am 1 Comment

Couponing for Community is a nationwide event promoted by a group of coupon bloggers who recognize that we have the abilities and resources to impact our communities. Couponers have been given some bad press lately and we want to combat that be showing how giving we can really be.

We invite you to join this community of couponers nationwide by giving a part of your stockpile away to a homeless shelter, food pantry, or a friend in need during the week of May 2-8!

Feel free to share comments or pictures on Facebook as you give of your abundance to those in need.

May 8 is also National Stamp Out Hunger Day. Check with your local Post Office to find out if they are participating!

I really want to encourage to to participate in some way big or small. Even a sack of groceries by your mailbox on Saturday, May 8th will make a good difference.

To see what I am donating visit me at Coupon Teacher.

This has been one of the biggest changes for me since I started couponing. I’m able, to a HUGE degree, to donate both groceries and money to our local food bank when I never thought I had that money in the budget. By collecting extra coupons from my neighbors, I’m able to purchase multiples freebies and great deals on healthy foods like cereal, rice, and more and donate weekly to our local food bank. They laugh when I come in with 20 boxes of pasta, all FREE, but I know they appreciate it.
