Chase Community Giving: Vote For Charity

July 8, 2010 at 8:26 am Leave a Comment

Chase Community Giving is donating a total of $5 million to 200 charities. The greatest part is that WE get to help decide which charity wins the grand prize donation and who the runners up are.

According to Chase Community Giving’s website, “users will help Chase direct corporate philanthropy dollars to eligible organizations in the following focus areas: primary and secondary education, youth development, healthcare, housing, community development, the environment, combating hunger, arts and culture, human services, and animal welfare”.

Here is how the money will be shared among the charities:

  • The eligible charity receiving the most votes will be awarded $250,000
  • The four runners-up will be awarded $100,000 each
  • The next 195 charities will be awarded $20,000 each
  • Additionally, a special Advisory Board will allocate an additional $500,000 to be shared among its chosen eligible charities receiving at least one vote.

Voting closes July 12th at 11:59pm. If you would like to get involved, here is the page to do so. The only catch is that you have to have a Facebook profile to be able to vote but nowadays I think that won’t be a problem for most people 😉
