It’s no secret that I love this time of year! There is just nothing about fall that I don’t love. Except the spiders. I hate spiders. One of my favorite things about the season is the opportunities for frugal fun. Autumn weather is perfect for free outdoor activities like parks, hiking (or geocaching!) and softball.
You’ll also find farm markets, festivals and haunted houses. We went apple picking earlier this month, including a hayride through a pumpkin patch. On Wednesday, I’m off to the children’s museum to preview their haunted house—the girls will go later this month with their Scout troops.
And, next week? We’re headed to Kelsay Farms for a day of family fun. It’s part of our year of awesome—one family outing each month for the entire year. I know Lorelai is going to love the Moo Choo Express. Brenia has been begging to go to a corn maze for a month. And, Stacia? She’ll be all about the ice cream.
The best part about the whole event is that everything is included at Kelsay Farms! It’s always such a disappointment to get to something fun, only to find out that there is a separate charge for each activity. Admission to Kelsay Farms is all inclusive, including live music every Saturday night and face painting each Saturday & Sunday afternoon.
Plus, the Dairy Days Fall Festival is this weekend, with extra activities—that’s where we’re headed on Saturday. Wanna join us? You have the chance to win a pair of tickets, too! Simply leave a comment here, and tell me your favorite thing about fall. You can earn additional entries by:

My favortie thing about Fall is spending the day with the people I cherish most, at places like Kelsay Farms! I recently moved back to Indiana from the Pacific Northwest for the sole reason of spending fall Saturdays with my parents, sisters and nieces…bundled up in a hoodie, exploring the outdoors, and soaking up the glory of fall in Indiana. I definitely loved the Pacific Northwest and all of the beautiful mountains, but it’s good to be ‘back home again in Indiana’ and it doesn’t take long for me to look around and realize how beautiful life (as a whole) is here in Indiana. I want to say thanks to places like Kelsay Farms for taking the time (and if you’ve seen the tremendous amount of detail that is poured into Kelsay Farms, you’ll know what I mean) to create a place for fmailes to come together and celebrate the beauty of fall, and fun, and the great outdoors, right here in our backyard!

Honestly, fall isn’t my favorite season- I feel like it’s just the Foreboding of Winter, which is depressing. The upsides to fall is the start of Baking Season- and apples are a big part of that!

I just love the Fall! One of my favorite things is the beautiful leaves changing colors. I also like attending several Fall Festivals around Indiana, picking out Pumpkins with our son and watching his eyes light up with joy. We just discovered Kelsay Farms a few weeks ago and are looking forward to taking our 3 year old son there this coming Saturday for Dairy Days Fall Festival.
