One of my favorite things on our summer fun schedule is the free movie! Every Tuesday & Wednesday through the summer, our local theater shows a G & PG movies at 10am. It’s completely free, and the girls relish the opportunity to see new movies & old favorites on the big screen—something that is not typically in our budget.
Check with theaters in your area for details on the summer movie program. May theaters across the country have free (or nearly free!) movies all season. Here are the basic details:
AMC Summer Movie Camp
A different movie every Tuesday at 10am from June 15-August 10th. Admission to Summer Movie Camp is $1. Plus, they will sell $4 kids concession packs.
Cinemark’s Summer Movie Clubhouse
Each week, Cinemark will show G or PG movies weekday mornings at 10am. Admission is $1, or you can purchase a $5 Summer Movie Clubhouse punch card for all 10 movies through the summer!
Kerasotes Summer Movie Series
Every summer, Kerasotes theaters have offered a free kids movie on Wednesday & Thursday mornings. However, there is no information available for this year. I am guessing it has something to do with the AMC merger. Perhaps, the AMC Summer Movie Camp will be available at Kerastoes theaters too—check with your local theater for details.
Marcus Theaters Kids Rule
Kids Rule admission is $2.75 at Marcus Theaters, but it includes popcorn! Every Wednesday & Thursday, a different movie will be shown, June 23-August . I’m a little jealous of those of you in this theater area—the movies are much more current than your typical summer program!
Regal Free Family Film Festival
Every Tuesday & Wednesday, June 8th-August 11th, a free G & PG movie will be shown at 10am. We go to the Free Film Festival almost every week, right down the street from our house. I’m looking forward to the Madagascar/Madagascar 2 back-to-back weeks later in the summer!
As always, check your location for participation & details. And, if you know of one I missed, please let me know!
