Target’s Price Matching Policy

Target recently instituted a price matching policy. This price matching policy can be used to obtain some really great deals. Since it’s introduction, there has been much confusion and conversation about what can and cannot be done with this policy.

To clarify exactly what the policy is, Target released a FAQ on its website.  The highlights of their policy include:

What qualifies as proof of a competitor’s advertisement?

Please show us the entire printed advertisement.

Can I use coupons when price matching?

Target does not match coupon-required offers but guests can use Manufacturer or Target coupons when requesting a price match. Target coupon policy: Target accepts one manufacturer coupon and one Target coupon for the same item (unless prohibited).

Are their exclusions?

Yes. Some include:

  • Online retail promotions or products advertised on another company’s web or mobile sites, even those advertising in-store prices.
  • Competitor’s free product, bundled offers, or special purchases
  • Gift cards and coupon-required offers
  • Timed events (e.g., early bird, doorbusters)
  • Limited time or quantity items

Be sure to check out the entire policy on Targets website.
