Listia Auctions for Free Stuff

If you have something to get rid of that may not be an item someone would be willing to pay for, but someone could use, you may want to check out Listia. When I first saw this site, I immediately thought of Freecycle meets Ebay.

Here is how it works:

  • A user puts something they don’t want anymore. Example, I had a perfectly good grill that we were no longer using. My husband wanted a new one. I paid $40.00 for it to be taken away by the trash man.
  • When you list something you get credits.
  • Another user who has earned credits, can bid on your item.
  • When the auction is over, the user and the bidder get together to get exchange the  item.

This site is really cool for getting rid of things you DON’T want, while being able to use the credit to buy something that you may want. For example, you have an old monitor – no one is going to buy it from you on Ebay.  You don’t want to put it in the trash. There is someone out there who needs a monitor and doesn’t care that it is the size of your entire desk!

You can sign up HERE to get 50 free credits…and maybe list something. You may make someone’s holiday season.
