Money Saving Monday: Cleaning

money-saving-mondayGood morning, Monday! The best part of my Mondays has become reading all of your great tips for Money Saving Monday. I hope you’ve all brought your A-game today because I need some serious help. We’re talking about cleaning this week so it’s time to share those frugal tips for organizing, homemade cleaners and any other clever ideas you have crafted.

One of the best things I’ve done to save money on cleaning was eliminate the paper waste. I do not buy paper towels. At all. (My visiting cousin will attest to that—she was a bit surprised to find not a one in the house.) Instead, we use dish cloths, cloth napkins and microfiber towels. All can be tossed into the washer after use, rather than the dumpster. It’s not only good for the landfills, but it’s easier on the budget. One inexpensive set of towels will last for years over a package of paper towels that lasts a week. It’s so nice to know that our girls are now using 1 cloth napkin per meal instead of 4 napkins. It makes them feel special, and saves a ton of money every month.

Now, we want to hear your own ideas! The rules are simple: write about saving money on the given topic, mention MSM and link back to Inexpensively in your post, then come back here to add your permalink in the Mr. Linky. Be sure to grab the banner to let everyone know you’re participating! If you do not have a blog of your own, you are welcome to share your tips in the comments. Then, check out the great tips from our contributors and readers. Don’t forget to come back next week to share frugal tips on Thanksgiving—it will officially be November and time to start planning ahead.
