With the fall season up us, there are many ways to entertain your kids without breaking the bank!
1. Kids Building Workshops- Both Lowes & Home Depot offer a kids building workshop for free. These workshops feature small kid friendly projects. They also encourage kids to use their hands. Both workshops are held on Saturday mornings. You can get more information about these programs on Lowes.com and Home Depot.com. Cost: FREE
2. Community Parades – With the Halloween season upon us, may communities are having Halloween or Fall parades. This is a great way for kids to get out of the house and enjoy the fresh fall air. As a bonus, most parades hand out treats! Cost: FREE
3. Hay Rides, Corn Mazes & Pumpkin Patches - This is the prime season for pumpkin picking and hay rides. Go to the pumpkin patch and pick a few pumpkins. Most pumpkin patches will allow you to walk around free, even if you are only buying 1 or 2 pumpkins. Cost: $5.00-$8.00
4. Photographic Walk in the Park – Grab a disposable camera and take a walk in the park. Let your child take pictures of the trees and the fall foilage. Nothing is more fun than playing in the leaves when you are a child. Make a scrapbook with the pictures. Cost: $10.00-$15.00
5. Make a Halloween Costume – Let your child make his or her own Halloween Costume. Visit thrift shops to find pieces to put together a great costume. You will save some money on the costume, plus entertain your child! Cost: Varies
