The following is a post sponsored by Yahoo! Every time someone clicks here to make Yahoo! their homepage, they’re showing their support for Girls For A Change.

I was selected for this opportunity by Clever Girls Collective, which endorses Blog With Integrity, as I do.

With three girls in private school and gluten free groceries to buy, extra money is a little hard to come by. I’d love to be the kind of person who can donate extra money to the school and finance my favorite organizations, but it just can’t happen financially. That doesn’t mean I can’t contribute meaningfully to our community.

With her Giving Inexpensively column, Alicia has inspired me to look for opportunities all around us for ways to make a difference while sticking to your budget. I’ve worked this year on increasing my charitable contributions, from volunteering at community events to donating unused groceries & clothes from our abundance.

That’s why I’m excited to share the opportunity to help Clever Girls raise up to $10,000 for Girls For A Change. All you have to do is make Yahoo! your browser’s homepage by July 1. Yahoo! will donate $10 for each person who clicks here to make Yahoo! their homepage by tomorrow—so spend a couple minutes & get it out of the way right now!

Girls For a Change is a national organization, with an active branch here int he Indy area, that encourages girls to create social change. They are empowering young women to implement social change projects on issues the girls face in their own communities. By inspiring girls to use their voices, talents and problem solving skills, young women learn to speak up, be decision makers and create real change that makes a difference in their neighborhoods—and, eventually, the world!

I just love that entire concept. This is exactly what I want my girls to learn. I want them to grow up to be the kind of women who will stand up for what’s right. Strong women, who will lead the way to real change. Women who know that no matter where they are in their own lives, they should be supporting & lifting up those around them.

So, I’m giving the Yahoo! homepage & its personalized content a try, to support Girls For a Change—and, I hope you will too.

I wrote this post while participating in a blog tour conducted by Clever Girls Collective on behalf of Claritin®. When you have a family member who suffers from allergies, it can be tricky to keep them comfortable & [...]

Make the Most of Your Kroger Fuel Rewards

With gas prices at an all-time high across the country, it’s time to step up our game and really take advantage of the fuel discount offers. One of my favorites is Kroger—partly because it’s right down the street, but mostly because it’s a simple way to lower the fuel budget by doing something I have [...]
